*Dear Ulrike and Jörg,

The table of preparations for John Cage’s Sonatas and Interludes specifies an eraser by American Pencil Co. # 346 to be interlaced under the strings C sharp and E flat over the bass D, 6 3/4 inch from the damper. As this eraser is no longer available, I propose to replace it with the Boesner for Artists 3B pencil that you enclosed with your set.
